Bee's Seattle, Washington - Apr 2023

Much to our surprise, Joel and I managed to navigate through our first holiday season without our beloved Bianca. Each day remained a struggle, with the weight of her absence making it hard to carry on, yet we found solace in the thought that Bianca would want us to continue living fully.

In April of 2023, Joel had a business trip planned for Seattle. Since our eldest son, Chris, resides there, it presented a perfect opportunity for a heartwarming reunion between father and son.  A few days later, I decided to tag along for a quick weekend getaway to spend some quality time with Chris. It had been quite some time since Joel and I last visited Seattle, back in the summer of 2017.

Exploring the city in the springtime was a delightful experience, despite the unexpected chill in the air. Seattle's vibrant atmosphere, brimming with diversity and vitality, left us enchanted. Although Bianca never had the chance to visit Seattle, we could imagine her falling in love with the city just as we did.

During our brief stay, Chris graciously showed us around some lesser-known spots in Seattle, away from the tourist crowds. Our culinary adventure began with a delightful omakase dinner at the local favorite, Shiro’s Sushi, where every bite was a treat for the senses. We were fortunate to catch the tulip gardens in full bloom, a breathtaking sight with rows of colorful tulips stretching as far as the eye could see. As a perfect conclusion to our weekend, we indulged in a memorable dinner at Barolo Ristorante, savoring the exquisite flavors of Italian cuisine amidst a sophisticated ambiance.

However, the true highlight of our trip was the invaluable time spent with Chris. Despite the mere two-hour flight that separates us, his presence fills our hearts and completes our family, serving as a poignant reminder that we will always be a family of five, even in Bianca's absence.
