Bee's 21st Birthday - Hawaii 2024

**April 11, 2024.**

Today would have been Bianca's 21st birthday. It’s heartbreaking to think she was denied this milestone—her first legal drink, college adventures, a first job, and all the ups and downs of growing up.

What adds to the pain is knowing that, while she never got to enjoy a drink legally, she faced so much suffering—grueling treatments, toxic drugs, and blood transfusions. She missed out on the lightness of being tipsy but endured the harsh nausea of chemo far too many times. Life was incredibly cruel to her, leaving us with a heavy heart and a lot of anger.

Still, I hold onto Bianca’s wise words: “Anger is wasted energy.” That has become our mantra. We choose to let go of anger because if my courageous 18-year-old daughter could rise above her battles, then so can we.

Since planting Bianca’s tree at Gun Stock Ranch in Oahu, we hadn’t returned, but we knew we had to honor her 21st birthday in her favorite place. Joel and I traveled to Oahu with Chris and Gabe, indulging in all of Bianca’s favorites—poke from Foodland, shaved ice from Matsumoto's, and mac nut pancakes from Boots & Kimo. We even enjoyed a delicious steak dinner at The Signature Prime Steak & Seafood, one of her beloved spots.

Visiting her tree was a highlight—tall, vibrant, and filled with love.

Babygirl, we strive to make you proud every day. Please continue to guide and protect us. Navigating life without you is tough, but we’re trying to find joy in the little moments, hoping to make you smile from above.

Though you may no longer be here with us, we will always be a family of five.
